Bluebonnet Notes: Prints And Licensing

Prints

Each print that I create is painstakingly prepared in a manner that is unique to its size and the medium it is going to be printed on. My images are cropped based on artistic decisions during post processing, therefore, they do not necessarily conform to industry standard aspect ratios like 2:3 or 4:5. For this reason, the print sizes listed below are measurements of the print's longest side.

Prints can be purchased by clicking on an image thumbnail to view the image and then selecting the printing option you are interested in below it. Payment may be completed via Paypal or with a credit card, and shipping is included in the listed prices listed. Because of the great amount of care and attention I give every print I create, the amount of time from when you place your order until the time when you receive your print may be several weeks, depending on the print and what is required in order to prepare the image file for printing.

Certain images are not for sale, but are included in the online galleries because of what I feel they contribute to the body of work as a whole. Images of the University of Texas and the Alamo are not available for sale as prints. Images made from film scans are also not available for sale as prints.

Lumachrome HD acrylic face mount prints (ready to hang)

I am very pleased to offer Lumachrome HD acrylic face mount prints. The Lumachrome process is engineered to overcome and surpass the limitations of traditional processes. Details appear to emerge in three dimensions from the depths of the image with the Lumachrome process thanks to the transparency layer that is infused with iridium particles and is encapsulated in a layer suspended between the white poly surface and acrylic. Its characteristics include brilliant colors with an archival rating of over 120 years, a superior gamut versus traditional prints, incredible depth and dimensionality, unsurpassed detail and ability to hold highlights, superior shadow luminosity and detail, and a radiant glowing response under halogen lighting.

The finished piece includes a 1/8" acrylic face mount with a 6mm Comatex backing and a 1.375" back mounted floating frame for a very modern aesthetic, and is ready to hang on your wall. If so desired the these pieces may also be configured without the floating frame so that they may be framed in a traditional manner.

Fujicolor Crystal Archive Digital Pearl prints

Unframed, unmatted prints on Fujicolor Crystal Archive Digital Pearl Paper are offered as a more affordable, yet still high quality, alternative to Lumachrome HD acrylic face mount prints. Fuji Pearl paper contains a very special component: pearly mica crystals. Based on the natural mica, they are covered with a thin layer of metal oxides. Through an interplay of transparency, refraction, coating and multiple reflections, one can discern silver-white and metallic reflection effects which lend pictures an intense warmth and depth.

Licensing

Most of my images are available for licensing. The cost will vary depending on how the image is going to be used. Please click here to contact me with information regarding the image you wish to license, a detailed description of how the image will be used, a brief description of the company and industry, the image size required, the print run and distribution territory (if applicable), and the duration of the license. I use standard stock industry pricing scales to determine my fees, based on the above information. Click here to contact me for details and pricing.

Each of my images has a unique number associated with it which facilitates its location for licensing requests. This number can be found by clicking on an image thumbnail and locating the title below the image. Images of the University of Texas and the Alamo are not available for licensing.

Due to the fact that I have a significant amount of time and money invested in creating the images on this website, I do not allow them to be used without compensation. Inquiries requesting the free use of my images may not be answered. All images © 2004-2020 Jason Merlo, all rights reserved. Any use of my images without my express permission is prohibited.
